Terms of Use

UseTIARA is provided as-is. It may be unavailable from time to time, and it may miss items, return noisy matches, or be affected by Internet Archive outages or indexing delays. UseTIARA does not guarantee uptime, completeness, or accuracy.

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. Do not share your account or use someone else’s account.

Please do not abuse the service. That includes trying to interfere with the site, scrape or bypass limits, or use the service for unlawful purposes. Accounts that abuse the service may be suspended or removed.

UseTIARA’s features, plans, and pricing may change over time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

UseTIARA respects users' privacy and tries to collect only the information needed to run the service.

What UseTIARA collects

UseTIARA collects the information needed to run the service, including your email address, password hash, saved search terms, search results, digest history, and operational logs such as login attempts, IP addresses, and error logs.

Saved searches and results

Saved search terms and search results are private to your account and are not public on UseTIARA. They are stored on our systems and are not end-to-end encrypted.

How your information is used

UseTIARA uses this information to operate the service, including running your searches, generating RSS feeds, sending email digests, verification emails, password reset emails, and maintaining the security and reliability of the site.

When information is shared

UseTIARA does not sell your personal information. UseTIARA does not share your personal information or saved search terms except as needed to operate the service, or if required by law.

To operate the service, limited information may be shared with service providers such as the hosting provider, database and backup infrastructure, and email delivery provider. For example, your email address and the contents of service emails may be processed by the email delivery provider when UseTIARA sends digests or account-related messages.

Advertising and analytics

UseTIARA currently does not display advertising and does not use a third-party analytics service. If that changes, this policy will be updated.

Legal requests

UseTIARA may disclose information if required to do so by subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, security, or users of the service.

Data retention

Account information, saved searches, search results, and digest history may be retained while an account remains active. Operational logs and backups may also be retained for a limited period for security, maintenance, and recovery purposes.

Security

UseTIARA takes reasonable steps to protect your information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

UseTIARA is not intended for children under 13.

Data stored in the United States

UseTIARA is operated in the United States, and information submitted to the service is stored in the United States.

Changes to this policy

This page may be updated from time to time. Continued use of UseTIARA after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms and privacy policy.
